Fried Hornets

Ingredients
- 200 grams of lesser Banded Hornet Larvae
- 1 teaspoon white pepper powder
- 3 cloves fresh chopped garlic
- 3 chopped fresh red chilis
- 3 chopped fresh green chilis
- 3 tablespoons dried fried shallots
- Cooking oil
- 1/3 cup corn starch
- Sea salt
- Fresh brioche bread rolls
- Iceberg lettuce or lettuce of choice
Directions
- Add the corn starch to the partially frozen Hornet larvae
- Gently combine the corn starch and place into the pre heated oil ( 375 F )
- Cook the larvae until crispy and golden and remove.
- Into a pan add a small amount of cooking oil and heat ready to fry.
- Add the red and green chilis, the garlic, salt, white pepper powder and stir fry for a minute or so.
- Add the fried hornet larvae and mix together for about 1 minute. remove from the heat and place onto the brioche bread rolls atop some lettuce leaves.
- Serve hot
